Professor Rana Lehr-Lehnardt from University of Missouri—Kansas City School of Law presented on United States international obligations toward refugees (insert date and location). The approximately 55 guests in the audience were interested and engaged in the presentation and posed numerous and interesting questions. The open and welcoming atmosphere allowed guests to discuss current refugee situations openly. The initial presentation about international treaties and U.S. obligations under these treaties helped create an understanding of US law and policy related to refugees. Many guests expressed a desire for the US to increase admittance of refugees onto US soil and sought for ways to help refugees once they arrive in our communities.
