Dialogue Institute, St. Francis Xavier Church and Catholic Visitation Parish are organizing “Interfaith Prayer Service for Solidarity” on February 21st, at 2 pm at St. Francis Xavier Church for those who have lost their lives in the recent attacks in San Bernardino, Istanbul, Paris, and many other parts of the world. We will also pray for those persecuted throughout world history because of their religion, ethnicity, gender, or any other reason
After the program Fr. Rafael Garcia stated that: “I’m very thankful to God and to all the participants that this event occurred here at St. Francis Xavier Church on Sunday. In a special way, thanks to you and the Dialogue Institute of Kansas City for planning the event, as well as to Jude Huntz of Visitation Catholic Church.
I felt a very powerful inner peace and joy and sense of union during the experience of the 11 of us being together, each leading a prayer and reflection from one’s faith tradition on the urgent need for Peace as well as denouncing violence in the name of religion. Each of us there, from different religions and denominations were united in the same values. It was a prophetic testimony to unity with diversity, which is the path to Peace and the Hope for the world.
