Dialogue Institute condemns the shooting in Kansas City

We strongly condemns the shooting of Capt. Robert Melton today. Our hearts and prayers go to the victim and his family.
Below is a detailed story by Kansas City Star:
“A Kansas City, Kan., police captain who was shot Tuesday afternoon has died, authorities announced at a press conference.
Capt. Robert Melton, a veteran who served in Afghanistan, was shot about 2 p.m. at 22nd and Haskell in Kansas City, Kan. and by 2:45 p.m. one person was in custody and police had detained another person.
When Melton arrived at the University of Kansas Hospital at 2:22 p.m. He had no heart rate and CPR was performed.
“Despite our best efforts, the officer was pronounced at 2:55 p.m.,” said trauma surgeon James Howard”
“We need to be in prayer for our community,” KCK Mayor Mark Holland at the press conference.
